The delivery of Cross-Cultural Awareness Programs to ensure all staff gain a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures and the issues affecting their members. The program encourages participants to dismantle stereotypical thinking & discrimination. Greater awareness is a vital step to benefiting individuals & organisations. The programs are developed within a framework, which considers cross-cultural dynamics in our modern society & corporate environment.
Dynamic interactive Cross Culture Awareness Programs can be designed to meet the specific needs of organisations that are involved with Indigenous people in either a commercial or service capacity. Programs offered are of a flexible format that can be developed to include specific materials such as strategies relating to the organisation's operation, employment, training or resource management policies. This may require designing & developing the program by working closely with clients to prepare a format & structure that meets their exact needs.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

To raise awareness & understanding of Indigenous traditional societies & evaluate historical & contemporary factors & issues;

Increase respect & acceptance of cultural diversity in Australian Society, specifically with regard to Aboriginal people & cultures;

Consider intercultural communication & assist both individuals & organisations to become skilled in working, interacting & negotiating with Aboriginal individuals & communities.

Encourage participants to reflect & evaluate their own attitudes, beliefs, habits & expectations in a culturally diverse environment.
With over 500 different tribes in Australia, you can never learn too much of Aboriginal culture, as all tribes are different. Thullii Dreaming is of the Ngemba tribe North West NSW and is committed to promoting and educating the Wider community about Aboriginal culture in New South Wales.
Activities:
- Group painting/Mural: Group divide into smaller groups, and will receive a canvas, paints and symbols sheet, each group together will paint a story using Aboriginal symbols, then present their story to the group.
- Artefacts Display & Cultural Talk: Demonstration and talk of traditional weaponry, Didjeridu, Aboriginal life, traditional and contemporary, hunting, marriages, kinship, totems. Audience interaction with questions and discussions.
- Bush Tucker workshop: A bush tucker workshop involving, native plants, bush fruits, traditional cooking, plant uses, and medicinal uses. Bush tucker tastings with damper, native jams & rainforest punch.
- Traditional Dance: Your group will be enticed with learning about Aboriginal dance, learning about why, where & when Aboriginal dance occurs, the different levels and stages of learning dance, ochres and body painting, the meanings and reasons behind body designs, colours of ochres and dancing grounds. The audience will participate in learning some dance and enjoy a performance by some of the Thullii Dreamtime Performers.
